What We Do @ TLC Speech

Therapy for Language and Communication, LLC provides comprehensive speech and language assessments and intervention to individuals. At TLC, we value family involvement, and therefore, communication with caregivers is essential in achieving the acquisition of targeted skills. TLC’s therapists develop individualized goals and objectives for each patient, which are assessed and modified as needed throughout the course of therapy. Therapy techniques that may be used in sessions include:

  • Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) – A tactile-kinesthetic method to facilitate speech production.
  • Dynamic and Temporal Tactile Cueing – A therapy approach for CAS to transition between sounds.
  • Social Thinking – A curriculum to address social communication deficits.
  • AAC – TLC has a lending iPad for AAC trials with various applications to support communication, including LAMP, TouchChat HD, Proloquo2Go, TD Snap, and more. TLC also has mid and low-tech AAC supports.
